Course introduction
The objective of the tuition in Introduction to information technology is to give the student knowledge of tools found in modern information technology at the Faculty of Science. After the course, the student will:
Have insight in the function of the computer and be able to use the computer as a productive and useful working tool in conjunction with the study, and
be able to recognize typical computer problems and formulate a strategy to solve them.

Expected learning outcome


Subject overview
Introduction: To e-learn, rules and ethics for use of computer system and net, solution of problems, basic architecture and knowledge of system, protection, security.
Word processing: General information of construction of Word processing programs, writing reports at university level, import of tables and diagrams from spreadsheets and calculation programs, import and editing of pictures.
Spreadsheet: General use, graphic, analyze of data, statistic (linear regression and x2-test).
Maple: Solution of equation, plot of functions, derives and integrals, integration with spreadsheet.

Assessment and marking:
Approval of all lab exercises. Evaluation on a pass/fail basis. Internal examiner
