Seventh semester level and all required courses completed or begun.

Course introduction
Laboratory exercises and excursions are a part of the Danish high school (gymnasium/HF) curriculum. The participants learn to design laboratory exercises and organize excursions. They also gain experience in communicating biological topics at the appropriate proficiency level using different instructional techniques. (The course does not satisfy the paedagogical requirements for teaching at the high school level, but is a supplement to these).

Prerequisites for participating in the exam
None

Assessment and marking:
The students are required to participate actively in at least 80% of the course. Individual projects must be graded satisfactorily. The course is evaluated on a pass/fail basis using an internal examiner.

Expected working hours
The teaching method is based on three phase model.

a) Introduktion til kurset. b) Deltagerne forbereder og gennemfører undervisningsforsøg på forskellige niveauer valgt indenfor forskellige biologiske discipliner. c) Deltagerne forbereder og gennemfører en ekskursion. d) Forelæsninger omkring formidling samt efterfølgende praktisk afprøvning af forskellige former for formidling af biologisk viden. e) Udarbejdelse af projekt, der beskriver et større undervisningsforløb indeholdende en eksperimentel del. En del af det eksperimentelle forløb skal præsenteres og rapporten godkendes.
