Course introduction


Expected learning outcome
  • present a critical overview of a specific topic in behavioral biology
  • understand and explain general and specific sensory physiology
  • understand psychophysical methods and use these methods experimentally
  • understand and explain perception and reception through different sensory modalities
  • read, understand, analyze and critically appraise a research article concerned with a behavioral biology, broadly construed
  • plan, carry out and present training of an animal

Project - report and presentation, internal examinator, pass/fail

Reexamination in the same exam period or immediately thereafter

Expected working hours
The teaching method is based on three phase model.
Intro phase: 20 hours
Skills training phase: 50 hours, hereof:
 - Tutorials: 4 hours
 - Laboratory exercises: 16 hours
 - Other: 30 hours

Educational activities Study phase: 40 hours

This course is taught in Danish or English, depending on the lecturer. However, if international students participate, the teaching language will always be English.
