Academic preconditions:
Structured Programming (DM01) and Linear Algebra (MM02) is recommended.
Course introductionTo acquaint the students with use and analysis of basic numerical methods in applied mathematics.
Expected learning outcomeSubject overviewSolution of linear and nonlinear (systems of) equations, approximation of functions, numerical integration and differentiation, solution of ordinary and partial differential equations.

Prerequisites for participating in the exam
None
Assessment and marking:
A four hour written examination with the aid of textbooks and notes. External examiner. Marks according to the 13-point marking scale. In addition, there is a mandatory project which accounts for 1.5 ECTS credits of the 7.5 ECTS credits. The project must be approved before taking the examination. Examination only once a year (in January). Examination in spring semesters only upon approval of the Academic Board. Examination only after the course has been taught.
Expected working hours
The teaching method is based on three phase model.

This course is taught in English, if international students participate. Otherwise the course is taught in Danish.
