Course introductionThe course provides the advanced students with the ability to present scientific results to their colleagues and to interested non-scientists. The course focuses on giving talks and planning and preparing poster presentations.
Expected learning outcomeSubject overviewPreparation and presentation of scientific talks at different levels: from school classes via university seminars to scientific conferences. Setting up a poster for a conference and for attracting non-specialists.

Prerequisites for participating in the exam
None
Assessment and marking:
Preparation of a poster and an oral talk of 35 minutes followed by a 10 minutes question and answer session. One part must be for non-specialists and the other must include scientific elements, for example a current speciale or Ph.D.-project or a topic of modern physics.
Internal examination by lecturer. Passed/not passed.
Expected working hours
The teaching method is based on three phase model.
Forelæsninger (4 timer), individuelle og seminar-præsentationer (20 timer), gruppearbejde (6 timer).
Hver deltager udarbejder en poster og præsenterer et 35 + 10 minutters foredrag to gange; første gang til underviserne, der kommenterer dette, og efter forbedring af foredraget til alle kursusdeltagerne og lærere.

This course is taught in English, if international students participate. Otherwise the course is taught in Danish.
Remarks
The course may be taken by Masters students, but be aware that it is a Ph.D. course and that the level therefore is very high.
