A supervisor contract and project statement must be submitted. This must take place no later than one week after the semester has started, but it is recommended, that it is submitted as soon as possible after registration.

Academic preconditions:
Knowledge of mathematics, including statistics, corresponding to a bachelor in mathematics or applied mathematics. An agreement with an advisor must be in place before sign-up.

Course introduction
The purpose of the project is to allow the student to delve into an advanced subject/a scientific problem within statistics. The student finds and chooses relevant methods and literature in cooperation with the advisor.

The student will be able to:

• Define a scientific problem, in cooperation with an advisor.
• Independently acquaint him/herself with an advanced subject within statistics.
• Communicate results from an advanced subject within statistics in a clear and structured

Assessment and marking:

1. Project. Pass/fail, internal evaluation.  (5 ECTS). (25003422).

Deadlines
Projects carried out in fall-semester must be handed in 31 January; projects carried out in spring-semester must be handed in 31 July.

Deadline for handing in projects in the reexam period for winter examination is 1 march at the latest. Deadline for handing in projects in the reexam period for summer examination is 31 august.
