Academic preconditions:
Basic statistical concepts and principles (ST110) and Regression and analysis of variance: introduktion to practical statistical data analysis (ST111) are recommended.

Course introduction
Introduktion to analysis of data and inference methods based on mixed models, with applications in agriculture, biology and medicine.

Expected learning outcome


Subject overview
General analysis of variance and factor structure diagrams, random effects and variance components, hierarchical models, completely randomized block designs, split-plot designs, baseline measurements and covariance analysis, random regression models, analysis of longitudinal data, model control, applications of statistics packages, in particular PROC MIXED in SAS.

Prerequisites for participating in the exam
None

Assessment and marking:
Web-based exercises (50%) and final project (50%). Exercises and project are evaluated by external examiner (13-point grading scale). There is only exam when the course has run.

The teaching method is based on three phase model.
