BAFA501: Bachelor\'s thesis in Pharmacy (15 ECTS)

A supervisor contract and project statement must be handed in.

Submission is conducted electronically via https://blanket.sam.sdu.dk/form/101/submit. Submission must take place no later than 1 week after the semester has started, but is recommended, that it is handed in as soon as possible. The contract must be approved by supervisor, teaching committee and the head of studies.

Please note: If the project is carried out in a group, only one joint contract is to be handed in, stating the names of all group members.

Be aware that it is not possible to fill in the form after deadline of submission, since the application system will shut down. The system will reopen in connection with the next course registration, then you can fill out the form for the next semester.

Course introduction
The bachelor project will demonstrate the student's ability to competently formulate, analyze and process issues within a defined academic subject that reflects a central topic in the pharmacy program.

Qualifications
A student who has completed bachelor project, can independently apply knowledge and scientific methods in the pharmaceutical field. The student can apply in-depth knowledge and the state of the art within the selected area.

Expected learning outcome
A student who has completed Bachelor project can formulate and solve a current issue on a scientific basis associated with pharmaceuticals. The student can choose the appropriate means and show understanding of the importance of method development. The student can search, gather, evaluate and critically interpret information associated with the problem.

Subject overview
The topic is decided in collaboration with a supervisor and project description approved as part of the project contract by the supervisor, institution and head of studies.

Prerequisites for participating in the exam

Assessment and marking:
  1. Project. Danish 7-mark scale, external censorship. (15 ECTS). (03000302).

Deadline for bachelor's projects in the spring semester is 15 May. Deadline for bachelor's projects in the autumn semester is 1 January.

The bachelor's project may be carried out in groups of no more than 4 students. If the project is carried out in a group, the report will be part of the assessment at an individual oral examination at a later date.

Deadline for handing in projects in the reexam period for winter examination is 1 march at the latest. Deadline for handing in projects in the reexam period for summer examination is 31 august.

Educational activities

Language
This course is taught in Danish or English, depending on the lecturer. However, if international students participate, the teaching language will always be English.

Remarks
The bachelor's project must contain an abstract of the contents of the report, cf. The curriculum. If the report is written in Danish, the abstract must be in English. If the report is written in English, the abstract must be in Danish.
