Course introduction
The bachelor’s thesis represents the completion of the bachelor’s programme in chemistry. The project is thus intended to document that the student has acquired the professional knowledge and the theoretical and experimental qualifications that enable the student to identify, formulate, solve, and discuss issues related to a specific chemical subject.

Qualifications
After the completion of the project, the student can:

  • solve a chemically relevant assignment independently and in a targeted manner
  • handle complex, developmental situations in professional contexts,
  • identify own learning needs and structure own learning,
  • present the results of a project clearly and concisely to peers and other stakeholders.
Expected learning outcome
After the completion of the project, the student can:
  • Identify and formulate chemical issues and plan the gathering of experimental and/or theoretical knowledge for their solution,
  • analyse and apply the obtained research-based knowledge,
  • explain the scientific theories and models applied,
  • evaluate and generalise own results based on existing knowledge
  • structure and manage the implementation of a biological project, and generate results that match the time invested.
Subject overview
The subject of the project is determined in collaboration with a supervisor, and the project description is approved as part of the bachelor’s project contract by the supervisor, the department, and the study board.
