Course introduction
To give the student knowledge to simple programming in Delphi or VB.net or C#.net used on USB data acquisition module: Personal Measurement Device PMD1208Ls, plus construction and test of electronic circuits (process regulation and data collection) between computer and laboratory equipment.

Expected learning outcome
At the end of the course it is expected that the student can:

• Independent construct and understand IT – related measure set ups with PMD1208LS as a template.
• Put into perspective problems inside a subject by using IT technology on technical/scientific way of thinking.
• Report results by using IT-related methods.
• Make plans for and carry out quantitative measurements by help of self made programs
• Carry out quality control on IT basis equipment.

Subject overview
The following subjects are given in lessons and practice:

Introduction to simple programming in Delphi or VB.net or C#.net used on USB data acquisition module Personal Measurement Device PMD1208Ls.
• D/A conversion output
• A/D conversion input (graphic, data to/from file)
• Pulse counting input
• Pulsgenerator output.
• Lab exercise in analog- and digital measuring technique.
Construction of a test program for PMD1208Ls.
Demonstration of National Instruments LabView

Assessment and marking:
(a) Mandatory assignments, graded pass/fail. Internal censorship by teacher.
(b) Laboratory assignments, graded pass/fail. Internal censorship by teacher.

Re-examination after 4th quarter.

The teaching method is based on three phase model.

Forelæsninger 20 timer. Laboratorieøvelser 25 timer.
