Bachelor's degree in Molecular Cellbiology, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology - Chemistry or Chemistry - Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
Course introductionIntroduction to current problems in plant biotechnology and plant molecular biology.
Expected learning outcomeSubject overviewThe course will give a theoretical and/or practical introduction to a series of techniques used in plant molecular biology. These include:
Plant tissue culture - isolation of immature embryos and callus culture
Transformation using Agrobacterium and "biolistics"
Mutagenesis as a tool in basic and applied research
In addition a number of general molecular biological techniqes will be used.

Prerequisites for participating in the exam
None
Assessment and marking:
Short, written lab report and oral presentation (20 min. including discusion). Internal examiners, pass/fail basis.

The teaching method is based on three phase model.

This course is taught in English, if international students participate. Otherwise the course is taught in Danish.
