Academic preconditions:
The content of DM02 must be taken at least concurrently.

Course introduction
To obtain knowledge of the structure of computer systems and the interplay of hardware and software.

Expected learning outcome


Subject overview
Computer structure: digital logic, microprogramming and the architecture of microprocessors, conventional machine language level and assembly language.

Prerequisites for participating in the exam
None

Assessment and marking:
A four hour written examination with textbook, notes, and calculator. External examiner. Marks according to the 13-point marking scale. In addition, there are three mandatory programming projects (pass/fail) which account for 1,5 ECTS credits of the 6 ECTS. It is required that these projects be approved in order to take the examination. Examination in oppositional terms only upon approval of the Study Board. Examination only after the course has been taught.

The teaching method is based on three phase model.
