Comment:

Prerequisites:
None

Academic preconditions:
None. The course is mandatory for students without high level physics from high school taking General Physics (FY 01)/Physics for biomechanical students. Normally, the course is taken parallel to General Physics (FY 01, autumn part)/Physics for biomechanical students

Course introduction
The course is a supplement to General Physics. The aim of the course is to give the students with a weaker background in physics a possibility to enlarge their experience in physics and to increase their routine in using the methods of physics. This enables also these students to benefit fully from General Physics.

Expected learning outcome

Subject overview
As for General Physics (FY 01, autumn part)/Physics for biomechanical students: Classical mechanics (kinetics, dynamics, statics, work, energy and momentum), thermodynamics, transport phenomena (diffusion), elasticity, radioactivity, geometrical optics. The topics are elaborated on and exemplified by a large number of problems.

Literature
M.M. Sternheim and J.W. Kane: General Physics

Website
This course uses e-learn (blackboard).

Prerequisites for participating in the exam
None

Assessment and marking:
The students are under an obligation to appear. A number of problems posed should be solved and approved by internal marking. Marks: passed/not passed. No second examiner.

Expected working hours
The teaching method is based on three phase model.

Forelæsninger (14 timer) og regneøvelser (16 timer).
