Electromagnetism (FY02B).
Course introductionIntroduction to generel methods of experimental physics, including data acquisition and analysis.
Expected learning outcomeSubject overviewIn the lectures an introduction is given to electronics, optics and solid state physics. Emphasis will be on subjects dealt with in the lab.
Laboratory exercises: circuits with operational amplifier, transmission in coaxial cables and decay of photoluminescence, dependence on temperature of saturation current in diodes, C-V characteristic and I-V characteristic for diodes, two-dimensional transport in heterostructure, optical diffraction and reflection, optical spectroscopy with determination of energy gap, electrical filters and coupled oscillating circuits.
