The courses of the Science Year must have been attended.

Course introduction
To make the students familiar with the fundamental concepts of electromagnetism by providing them both with theoretical insight from text and problems as with hands-on experience in the laboratory. In this way the course provides a basis for understanding and applying electrical-, electronic- and optical components in modern technology.

Expected learning outcome

Subject overview
Electrostatic interactions and forces, fields and potentials. Electric currents including ac currents, and electric circuits. Magnetism and induction.

Literature
  • Halliday, Resnick and Krane: Physics, Volume 2, Fifth Edition, John Wiley and Sons, Inc., 2002.
