Bachelor's degree in physics

Course introduction
To give an overview of physical mechanisms determining the properties, formation and development of the stars and also an understanding of the subatomic structure of matte(nuclei and elementary particles).

Expected learning outcome
Participants will after the course be able to:
-explain the mechanisms governing birth, development and death of the stars
-give an overview on an elementary level of the forces of nature governing the Universe
-demonstrate knowledge about mechanisms for synthesis of elements in the stars as well as the early Universe
- explain basic reactions on the subatomic level (nuclei and elementary particles).

Subject overview
Classification and development of stars, mechanisms of generation and transport of energy in stars, final states of stars, galaxies, elementary introduction to nuclear and high energy physics, nuclear synthesis in the early Universe and the early Universe as a high energy physics laboratory.
