Submission must take place no later than 1 week after the semester has started, but is recommended, that it is handed in as soon as possible. The contract must be approved by supervisor, teaching committee and the head of studies before the project is started.

Academic preconditions:
The bachelor’s curriculum in chemistry or equivalent is expected. You can only register for this course by prior agreement with a supervisor.
Course introduction
This course is designed to make the student learn how to identify and formulate a research problem (along with the help of a supervisor), and once formulated, solve it. The specific problem of the activity may fall within any area of chemistry, and the work required to solve it can be based on laboratory experiments, field observations, theoretical modelling, and / or literature review.
Expected learning outcome
The course will give the students a basic understanding of how to formulate and conduct a research problem. The student should be able to:
The project advisor will evaluate the student, based on a written report that describes the results of the research project.
Deadline: Projects carried out in fall-semester must be handed in 31 January; projects carried out in spring-semester must be handed in 31 July.
