Academic preconditions:
Bachelor´s degree in chemistry must be passed.

Course introduction
To obtain knowledge of a variety of synthetic techniques and methods.

Expected learning outcome


Subject overview
A number of multistep syntheses are performed. Syntheses in inert atmosphere, syntheses with small amounts of substances, highly reactive compounds, organometallic compounds and the application of advanced equipment (e.g. microwave reactor) will be performed.

Prerequisites for participating in the exam
None

Assessment and marking:
Approval of laboratory journal and a written report. Passed/not passed. Internal evaluation by a teacher.

Expected working hours
The teaching method is based on three phase model.

Laboratorieøvelser inkl. enkelte demonstrationer af synteseteknik og laboratorieudstyr.

This course is taught in English.

Remarks
60 hours of laboratory exercises. An organizational meeting will be held before the course start. Time and place for meeting will be advertized on elearn 3 weeks before course start.
