Course introduction
The aim of the course is to provide the students with knowledge of practical analytical chemistry at such a level that the acquired knowledge can contribute to the theoretical understanding of fundamental chemistry and to a general understanding of experimental science.

Expected learning outcome
After the course, the students are expected to be able to:

- work independently and safely in an experimental chemical laboratoriun
- relate simple experiments to theoretical knowledge within basic chemistry
- carry out chemical titrations with reasonable accuracy
- determine concentrations from titrations and eqilibrium constants and relate pH-calculations to the titration curves for acid/base titrations
- relate structural formulas to molecular structure by simple computer simulation

Subject overview
Quantitative inorganic analysis, including acid / base titrations and pH calculations. Molecular simulations by computer.

Literature
There isn't any litterature for the course at the moment.

Website
This course uses e-learn (blackboard).

Prerequisites for participating in the exam
None

Assessment and marking:
Continuous evaluation (including both report and participation).

Participation in 12 hours of laboratory exercises + 4 hours of computer exercises, and approval of four written reports. Evaluated jointly. Internal evaluation by the teacher, pass/fail.

Expected working hours
