Academic preconditions:
KE501 – Fundamental chemistry must be passed. KE507 Introductory Environmental Chemistry is recommended.
Course introductionThe aim of the course is to give an introduction to the global climate, to climate changes, and the causes for this, both natural and anthropogenic, and to the modelling and predictions of the global climate.
Expected learning outcomeWhen the course is passed it is expected that the student can:
- Explain the most important aspects of changes in the global climate
- Analyze environmental chemistry problems relevant for the global climate
- Describe the background and mechanisms of models pertinent to predictions of regional and global climatic change
- To pass environmental chemistry data in relation to climatic change both orally and in writing to a broad audience

Prerequisites for participating in the exam
None
Assessment and marking:
Oral exam, Danish 7 mark scale, external examiner.
Reexam in the same exam period or immediately thereafter.
Expected working hours
The teaching method is based on three phase model.
Intro phase: 28 hours
Skills training phase: 18 hours, hereof:
- Tutorials: 14 hours
- Laboratory exercises: 4 hours
