Prerequisites:
None

Academic preconditions:
Chemistry A (KE 04 / iot: K-KE04) and Chemistry of the elements (KE 03 / iot: K-KEM3) must be passed. Organic Chemistry A (KO 02 / iot: K-OKE1) must be attended simultaneously at the latest. Analytical Spectroscopy (KM 01 / iot: K-SPK1) is recommended.

Course introduction
The aim of the course is to train the students in:

I) common operations in an organic and inorganic chemical laboratory
II) correct and adequate safety precautions in the laboratory
III) to perform simple syntheses to a level corresponding to "Organic Syntheses" and "Inorganic Syntheses" preparations
IV) searching relevant chemical literature.

Subject overview
Precautions against accidents in the laboratory, planning of a synthesis, selected unit operations, use of Beilstein and Chemical Abstracts and preparation of selected organic and inorganic compounds,
