Academic preconditions:
The content in one of the courses ST501 Science Statistics or ST503 Statistics for Biologists, or equivalent courses, is assumed known.

Course introduction
To introduce advanced methods in applied statistics with regard to analysing data from experiments or field investigations.

Expected learning outcome
• choose an appropriate method of analysis;
• analyse data using analysis of ANOVA;
• analyse data using multiple regression;
• analyse data using logistic regression;
• analyse survival data;
• perform ”goodness-of-fit” tests;
• avoid classical inferende errors (e.g. mass significance, pseudoreplication);
• evaluate the relevance of non-parametric methods and perform these;
• interpret a statistical data analysis with more than two variables.

Subject overview
General linear models, including analysis of variance ANOVA and multiple regression, survival analysis, and problems of design and inference.

Literature
  • Meddeles ved kursets start..
