Hvis du læser farmaci eller på TEK, så skal du have SU502 med start i september og eksamen i januar 2014. Du bliver sat på et hold, hvor undervisningen kører således.
Eksimatoriehold S5 og lab hold S1 er reserveret til DTF.

Hvis du læser biomedicin, kemi eller en anden studieretning, så begynder undervisningen først midt i oktober, og du skal til eksamen i marts 2014. Du bliver sat på et hold ud fra din studieretning.

Academic preconditions:
Passed first-year examination except for students at The Faculty of Engineering. Knowledge of Enzymes and Membranes BMB502 or BMB530 is expected. Anatomy SU501 or SU514 is highly recommended.

Course introduction
To give participants

  1. knowledge of the normal function of the body and the individual organs in order to understand the pathophysiological mechanisms and thus prevention and treatment of diseases and to give an understanding of qualifications necessary to help people with physial and mental well-being.
  2. insight in collecting knowledge and critically estimate the information in the light of the exactness, specificity and sources of error of the applied methods.
  3. certain knowledge of physiological research.


Qualifications
By the end of the course the students can:

  1. demonstrate knowledge of physiological terms and ideas in so far as it is necessary for the ongoing study.
  2. explain (or hypothesise) the function of specific organs or organ systems on the basis of existing knowledge.
  3. explain the control systems of the organism including the effects of disturbances of the individual organs or normal function of the organ system.
  4. decribe the fundamental methods applied in physiology includigng methods applied in the clinic and be able to explain the specificity, source of error and exactness of the methods.
  5. calculate and interpret methods based on data collected with physiological methods of measurement.

Assessment and marking:
a) Lab. work, pass/fail, intern censorship. (29002902)
b) Lab. work, pass/fail, intern censorship. (29003012)
c) 4 hour written exam (digital), with external censorship and grades according to the Danish 7-point scale. (29003002)
Compulsory laboratory exercises for both 2nd and 3rd quarter must be passed before the course is passed.

Expected working hours
The teaching method is based on three phase model.
