Academic preconditions:
The content of DM505 Database Design and Programming and DM532 Principles of Database Systems should be known.

Course introduction
The main purpose of this course is to give the participants an understanding of the techniques of Cloud Computing and Big Data Management and analytics.

Expected learning outcome
- develop programs and apply tools for large scale data management and analysis and deploy them on a cloud computing platform;
- conduct a project within the topics covered by the course;
- report work done in the project in a clear and precise language, and in a structured fashion.

Assessment and marking:
(a) Mandatory assignments, pass/fail, internal examiner.
(b) Project assignment, Danish 7 mark scale, external examiner.
